The ACLA State of the Discipline Report is an annual report on the state of the discipline of comparative literature. The needed a design that could clearly categorize writings while providing a comfortable long form reading experience. The grid and list views provide unique ways of browsing the content and the bright colors keep the content from feeling stale or stuffy.
The different categories for the papers gave me an easy excuse to use color to punch up the design and has the added benefit of helping the brows-ability of the site as well. They didn’t have any kind of branding for the site, so I made them a little logo while I designed the site.
