This was a class assignment at MICA to redesign the front page of the Baltimore Sun. I wanted to reinstate a classic look for the paper while giving it a unique above the fold treatment to keep things compelling. The challenge became creating visual interest and hierarchy without going over the top in scale and retaining the light touch I was going for.
Countless hours were spent painstakingly trying to eliminate widows, orphans and rivers. If someone were to read that sentence out of context, they would think I was a horrible person. Surely I’ve just been added to some kind of NSA watchlist.
